a part of my country [a part of who i am]

Hello dear followers !

I told you a few words about my one week trip to Maramures, but I didn't get the chance to show you photos. I go there cca. 2 months per year , in my vacations because Barsana is my grandparents' village. I adore that region and I always find a lot of inspiration there.

Therefore, as it has become a part of who I am, I would like to show you more :)

Maramureş is a geographical, historical and ethno-cultural region in northeastern Carpathians , along the upper Tisza River ; it covers the Maramureş Depression and the surrounding Carpathian mountains. Bârsana is a commune in Maramures County. As of 2002, it had 6,352 inhabitants, 86.7% were Romanian Orthodox, 7.8% Greek-Catholic and 3.1% Pentecostal.

Mabye this datas don't help you at all, but I tought it would be a good ideea to start with them. Now, here are some photos taken by me and my cousin and some found on deviantart :

We have to wear our traditional costumes when we go to Church. The skirt is called "sumnă", the shirt is called "cămeşă" and the scarf is called "pânzătură". The boys' costumes are a bit different as they wear the same cămeşă (but in a more simple way), a vest which is called "tieptar" and the hat is a "clop".

And every single item is handmade !

This is a part of the gorgeous Barsana Monastery in the village. I adore the place, for me is Heaven on Earth.

When we cannot go to the Monastery, we attend the local Orthodox Church.

Ayubowan dear followers ! (this is how you say Hello in sinhalese, the language of Sri Lanka).You are wondering what's wrong with me ? Well, lately I've been listening to M.I.A.'s songs like crazy. I find them and her attitude super inspiring and they put me in a fantastic mood ; that is quite visible since I've start wearing bright colors and combining patterns.. I think MIA was waaay ahead this entire color blocking trend and just by seeing her crazy outfits makes me wanna put on whatever looks confortable and dazzling :)

Hello dear dear followers ! I am back from my one week trip to Maramures, Romania to celebrate Easter in a religiously way and to visit my grandparents and my friends. I've prepared a lot of outfits and special things for you guys, but first, I'd like to share with you some photos I took before I left.

I am really excited about this surprisingly warm weather in April, so I took my favourite harem pants for a walk by the river. I felt so confortable in this outfit as blazers have become my pijamas (not really, I still respect them). OH AND YEAH, I have a new haircut, tananananana. Enjoy !

Hello dear dear friends ! :) These photos were taken on Friday, on a lovely lovely day. I woke up and decided to wear my lastest aquisition, the floral skirt. To my surprise, I felt very feminine in the morning and I accentuated this state with my "Friends are forever, boys are whatever" t-shirt. MUHAHAHA !It was the best quote for the day, since I spent it with my bestfriend laughing and drooling at the Architecture Bieneale Exhibition. Anyway, hope you'll enjoy the photos and... I need your small piece of advice : I've neven been quite sure if I look ... ok in skirts. So your opinions are more then welcomed.

We are golden !

Hi guys ! I hope you all had a wonderful week so far. Mine was quite busy and that's the explanation for the lack of posts. Anyway, today I found this blazer in my black hole aka the closer (i bought it last autumn from a vintage fair) and I decided to wear it with more GOLD, even if I'm not a fan of this color. But I ended up feeling really good so expect more golden stuff in the future.

Bună dragelor ! Sper că aţi avut toate o săptămână super până acum. A mea a fost foarte ocupată de aceea nu am avut timp să postez. Oricum , azi am găsit acest sacou neglijat in gaura neagră, adică dulapul meu şi m-am decis să îl port cu şi mai mult auriu, chiar dacă nu prea îmi place culoarea asta. Daaar, m-am simţit super bine îmbrăcată aşa, deci.. să vă aşteptaţi la mai multe ţinute aurite pe viitor..

Asta este ţinuta mea de Sâmbătă când am piedut vremea prin oraş cu varul meu şi soră-mea.Mi-am cumpărat aceşti cercei de la un tip care face lucruşoare handmade din piele, ceea ce înseamnă că sunt şi mai adorabile ! Cum vi se pare ?
